1. Identify your strengths and weaknesses- the first step for entering any field is how much you know about the particular skill you seek to learn. For example, you want to learn coding in a particular language but you don't know anything about this field.
Define which skills you want to improve- from the above example, it is clear that if you want to learn to code and you don't know the basics then firstly you need to improve your basic knowledge and it's the second step towards being a master of that skill.
Break the skill into smaller, manageable tasks- No one could master skills in a single day and the most efficient way to develop any skill is to break it into small chunks so that it would be easy for you to master that particular skill. You should take a power nap between long sessions; it helps to regenerate your energy and make you feel fresh.
Ask for feedback and accept criticism- taking feedback is the backbone for taking your skill to the next level the particular reason behind this is that no one is perfect but becomes better if they know their mistakes and it is possible when you ask for feedback and accept criticism.
Train regularly and commit time to practice- Continuity is very important if you want to achieve a very big goal such as getting to a millionaire, even a billionaire is a billionaire because he strictly sets his/her route and he/she is honest to the route. They never miss a single day because learning of one day could help them to survive in the game for many weeks.
Find the motive of your work- It means that your skill defines its use in your life because skill is a different ideology than that of hobby skill means that a particular work that helps you to master a particular field that helps you to be good in other fields. For example, a person with great communication skills would be great in marketing as he knows how to convince customers.
Find a support system or coach- A support system always motivates you to accomplish your goals and to go further and further. It also helps in your bad time so that you let your good times come and you let yourself shine like the sun in your good time. A support system could be anything such as your friends and family and even it could be a material thing, the only thing is that the thing or person motivates you.
Make sure the skill is relevant to your career or organization- This thing is closely interconnected with the above points and these things collectively define that what you are learning refers to a hobby or refers to a skill. If a particular thing is related to a lot of that help, you to grow your organization, business, etc refers to skill but the thing that you only like to do it is a hobby.
Practice deliberately and with purpose- As per the above three points we could make a conclusion that what is actually the difference between a skill and a hobby. A skill definitely needs practice whereas a hobby needs perfection; we can only master a skill if we practice it frequently and our sociology says that we try to master a thing that we like or not only because we have a purpose behind that.
